Tropilla Gallery

Criollo.... the working horse of argentina. Most of these images are of tropillas, one man owning seven or nine horses all similar who follow the "madrina" a single mare with the bell around her neck. All the others will follow this bell from young so no need for lead riegns and time consumeing chasing. Included in each tropilla is a horse of a different colour (lunar)... just to point out that the others are all the same! After individual displays of control, the horses from each Tropilla are herded together, minus the owner, then let loose in the arena. They are then "collected" by all the owners using only the Madrina and her bell. The result is a sea of up to two hundred horses. Like a flock of starlings the result is a visual feast.
